Metallicas concert in Pecatonoica,IL

I went to the Metallica show on July 5th in Pecatonica,ILwhich is a couple ou hours west of Chicago. The traffic was very heavz and wewaited two hours in line to get in. The show was the largest by far on this tour,with a total crowd of 40.000 attending plus 1.000 that were stuck in the trafficjam. Also, it was general admission. Basically, that means put 40.000 people ona big lawn with no seats, everyone for themselves. That happened for a while,and at about 6:30, the crowd surfing started. At 7:00pm, Days Of The New came on.I�d thoughtDays would suck, but they actually weren�t bad. I thought theyplayed really good, and some of the non-radio hits they played were pretty cool.They played for about 40 minutes. Anyway, when Jerry Cantrell came on, he played"Cut you in" and a couple other of his tunes tunes. I think he played3 or 4 Alice In Chains songs (his former band). He ended his set with a cover ofPink Floyd�s "Brain Damage/Eclipse". Anyway, that was the best partpf his set, an that ended it. He played for about 45 minutes. Than the waitbedan. It seemed like hours. but I think the wait lasted 35 to 40 minutes, I�mnot totally sure. One bad thing was, whenever a band wasn�t playing, the PAsystem played this Black Sabbath greatest hits tape over and over. They palyed 5songs probably 10 times. It drove me nuts. Anyways...the theme "The Good,The Bad and The Ugly" came on. The place went insane. Lars came out andstarted pounding "Helpless", and off they went. After that song ended,Metallica went striaght into "Maaster of Puppets" and the fuckin placewas absolute madness. I cannot describe in words how fuckin loud it was. Afterthis song, came "The thing that should not be" and the place wentdouble insane adn double loud. Then they rattled off a few old tunes, and "Fuel"that had a cool pyro. Next came a bunch of songs from the last 3 albums, thenthey went acoustic for "Low mans lyric", "The four horseman"and "Motorbreath". I think that this took away tons from the concert."Horse" and "Motor" were slowed down so much, it soundedlike it was blues or jazz, hell if I know, it was not metal enough, I think itwas sereously bad to do that to those songs, and i hope they stop doing it verysoon. Anyway that they played "Sad but true" and "Enter sandman".Sandman was really cool cuz the hole crowd was into it. It had some cool pyrostoo. Then they waited 5 minutes like usual. During the wait Jason came out tothe stage and played a really fuckin great bass solo that later was joined byLars. After finishing the solo the rest of the band came out and started to play"Creepind death", which didn�t seem like a good sont to end on. Theywanted to end the concert but the crowd was so high that they wanted more. Thebest points of the concert had to be "Master of Puppets"- the holecrowd was into the 2nd song of the night. "Of wolf and man"-Just adamn good song that everyone was into it. "Fuel"-God damn, i just loethis fuckin song! I personally think it�s the best song they�ve done since theblack album. Played live it�s just unbelievable. Hetfield shouted the introwords for "Fuel", and then when the band started playing, fire justwent everywhere. It was awesome! "The memory remains"- During the"da da da da" part, the entire fuckin crowd was singing with Jamz. Itwas cool. "King nothing"-this song was preety heavy. "Fight firewith fire"-Definitely the Best part of this show. They played the intropart over the PA, but when they started playing that song...WOW! During the song,they just stoped in the middle and Jamz yeld "Are u alive?Are youmotherfuckers alive. This song was so unbelievable and they played it great. Byfar, the high point of the show. "Enter Sandman"- Self explanatory.Just cuz everyone knows it, it�s so loud. And after the "prayer", thepart when Jamy laughs in silence, then the guitar comes in, they shot of fuckinfire works!!! Fire, fire works it was fuckin awesome. The concert ended fukcingreat at 12:00am. It will be unforogtten and i�ll remeber it as long as ilive...
